Dear Chico Racing supporters,
As with many businesses affected heavily by covid-19, we are navigating these waters with limited information. Our approach is very much a wait-and-see strategy, pushing our events forward by two months and hoping we are allowed to operate safely at some capacity.
Last year we took a bold move early on and pushed our 2020 events into 2021. We provided participants who registered before the pandemic with options to defer entries to 2021 or 2022 or take a partial refund. We have decided NOT to go with virtual events as it would not translate to the experience people have come to expect at our Epic 8 and 24 Hour.
We haven’t opened up registrations for our 2021 events as we don’t want to accept payment for events until we get more clarity. Refunding or giving future registration credit is an expensive and time-consuming process for us.
Our dates to decide how/if our events will be a go is May 17 for our Epic 8 Hour and July 5 for our 24 Hours of Summer Solstice. At those dates, we’ll make a call on capacity limits and whether we can re-open registration. Priority will go to those teams/individuals with deposits and credits already with us.
Our updated dates are June 19 for the Epic 8 Hour and August 28-29 for the 24 Hours of Summer Solstice.
