Over 2 months after the Summer Solstice comes Chico's 2nd 24 hour of the year, 24 Hours at Albion: Hot August Nights. With an entire summer between the events, many riders enjoy riding in both events as they differ in vibe and courses, but not in amenities. The nights get a little longer and the legs a little stronger, making for a memorable race that caps off another great summer.
Course Map Here (2010 Course Now Posted!)
The Course - Tons of fun, enjoyable for all ability levels!
Our focus is to differentiate the course from that of the Solstice. Fun is the main idea for this 24 hour course!
New No Night Category
Not comfortable about riding in the night or purchasing or renting lights - enter the 3-4 Person No Nite Category and get all the same 24 hour benefits without the night riding. You will still get all the 24 hour benefits, however your race will finish at dusk and restart at dawn. Your team will get a total of approximately 13 hours of riding at the Hot August Nights. Perfect category for first time 24 hour riders!

Shimano Youth Series
Free to those 11 & under!
Continuing last years’ success, Shimano will be on hand to cheer on the youngsters as they do one or several laps of a 2 km course (depending on age). Greeting them at the finish line will be medals and freezies. Look for the mini-person start area adjacent to the big person start.
NEW - Start time is 4 pm Saturday for 6 and under, 4:20 pm for 7 & 8, 4:40pm for 9 and over, and parents are asked to register at 3 pm at the main chalet. It is the parent/caregiver's responsibility to make sure your child's helmet is properly adjusted, and the bicycle is in good working order.
New Family Zone
If spending time with your family is another goal this summer, Chico Racing has made the event even more family friendly.
A new "Kid's Zone", with fun jumping castles and games, there's even more reason to make it a fun family festival. Add to this Albion's new splash pad by the beach, and the already fantastic FREE kid's race, there's plenty to do at North America's most popular 24 hour race destination.
Shimano Tech Support
Shimano is coming to the Hot August Nights to ensure your racing steed remains a thoroughbred. Shimano’s mechanics are the best there is, and you can count on them to help you with problems you might experience during the event (for people with Shimano components only).
Sporting Life Retail Area
Sporting Life will set up a full retail tent, complete with everything you can imagine to keep you on your bike. In addition to great deals on lights and other necessities, custom race jerseys and on-site mechanical assistance will ensure you’ll look good while riding a bike that won’t fall apart.
On Site Massage Therapy
Once again ON-SITE MASSAGE THERAPY will be available for this year's 24 hour
events, we will be located in the main sponsor area from Friday evening to
Sunday afternoon (that's right we massage straight through the night).
Most riders using our services in the past have raved about the
benifits of a 15 or 30 minute massage treatment, most athletes will come back 2 to 4 times during the race, or come by for a longer massage after their
last lap.
If you have any questions about massage therapy for this or any other event
please contact Brian Bennett RMT at 416-894-6015, or emailtheir website is also available at Balanced Living Wellness.
